Junior Instructor & Classroom Assistants
Selection Criteria
Junior Instructors must be:
-
at least 10 years old;
-
a Blue belt or above; and
-
have achieved at least one grade A or above - preferably more; and
-
a Classroom Assistant and teach regularly.
You have to be invited to join the course.
Classroom Assistants need to be:
-
at least 8 years old;
-
Preferably Blue belt or above; and
-
Preferably have achieved at least one grade A or above.
Selection Process
Following the recent successful introduction of the Classroom Assistants, we have decided that to be a Junior Instructor, students will have to be a Classroom Assistant first. Once we are happy that a Classroom Assistant is ready to move up to Junior Instructor level, they will be invited to join the Junior Instructor training course. You will need to be able to attend all the training sessions to be considered for promotion to Junior Instructor.
Initial Assessment
The Initial Assessment took place on Saturday 27th April 2024, and new trainee Classroom Assistants have now been selected and invited to the training course.
Trainees should note they should be able to attend all the training sessions. If you are not available to attend a session, please wait until next year's selection process. There is no capacity for us to catch up missed sessions with you.
Classroom Assistants will have 4 training sessions.
Junior Instructors will have 6 sessions.

Final Assessment
After completion of the course, both Classroom Assistants and Junior Instructor candidates will be assessed by an external instructor, usually World Master Nikki Line. Students will be required to demonstrate practical teaching and undergo an oral theory test.
This will take place on Friday 18th October for Junior Instructors only. You will be set a time for your assessment nearer to the date. Classroom Assistants will be assessed at a later date.
