Junior Instructor/Sparring Instructor
& Classroom/Sparring Assistants
Next Course
We will be running the next course for Classroom Assistants and Sparring Assistants from Sunday 12th January 2025 in Banbury, starting at 6.30pm.
Classes will be held on Sunday evenings, immediately after the Advanced Class which all candidates are invited to attend. If there are enough instructors available, we will begin the instructor training session whilst the normal advanced class is running.
The class is only for half an hour, so ensure you arrive promptly, suited and booted and warmed up ready to go at the start if you are not training in the Advanced class.
Classes will be every two weeks initially.
Sparring and Classroom Assistants will then split into different training regimes.

Selection & Assessment Process
To be a Junior Instructor or Sparring Instructor, students have to be a Classroom Assistant or Sparring Assistant first. Once we are happy that a student is ready to move up a level, they will be invited to join the Junior Instructor/Sparring Instructor training course.
Trainees should note they should attend all the training sessions. There is no capacity for us to catch up missed sessions.
Existing Junior Instructors/Classroom Assistants are welcome to attend any of the classes as a refresher.
Location
All the training sessions will be held at:
Spiceball Leisure Centre
Cherwell Drive
Banbury
OX16 2BW
Final Assessment
After completion of the course, candidates will be assessed by an external instructor, usually World Master Nikki Line. Students will be required to demonstrate practical teaching and undergo an oral theory test. Students must pass the assessment.
Allocated Classes
Both Junior Instructors and Classroom Assistants will be allocated a specified class to teach at. You should let us know if you will be unavailable to teach on your allocated session, and we would really appreciate it if you could try to swap with someone else if you become unavailable.
